A changed woman I am.

Yes, it has been a minute, I got busy with life.

However, I have done a little bit of genre searching outside of my usual bounds and HOLY. Have I discovered some gems.

Let me jog your memory, a little while ago I made a post about how niche isn’t real, still isn’t, but I talked about how performative men who love Turnstile, Geese and Fontaines D.C think they’re niche and “deep” or whatever the fuck I said. I did also mention I hadn’t really gotten into Turnstile or Geese, well. I gave Turnstile a listen because I have free will (naturally) and listened to their 2021 album “GLOW ON”. Look objectively it was okay, but then I discovered the holy gem of the BADBADNOTGOOD “NEW HEART DESIGNS” and holy shit.

I am quite the fan of BADBADNOTGOOD, I love the collabs they do, like “Tried” with Little Dragon in 2012, and WEIGHT OFF” with KAYTRANADA in 2016. IV is my favourite album of theirs, but when I tell you I have had this “NEW HEART DESIGNS” on REPEAT. Especially the track “Alien Love Call” – personally I like it better than the original. Maybe Im a pretentious asshole who likes some jazz and SO WHAT?

But of course then this means I had to source this FABULOUS single in record form. To my much dismay I found out that it was a record store day exclusive, BACK IN 2023. I was CRUSHED, however, I did find a place that had it in stock, it was in PERTH, and the shipping was $20, but I have it. Only taking a week to arrive and coming out pretty perfect on the turntable. I am a changed woman forever because holy dick have I got this one on the turntable ALL the time. It’s only 3 goddamn songs. But get this. ALL 3 SONGS ARE ON BOTH SIDES, so you flip it, bam play it again, flip it, BAM, playing it again.

Here she is, still on my turntable because I think I’ve listened the whole way through maybe 4 times this week, JUST on the turntable – that isn’t including streaming services hehehe.

This little single has surprisingly rocked my world, I am a changed woman.
